Winter is far from over in the Alps!

Spring may be in the air, but winter is far from over in the Alps, with much colder weather set to sweep across Europe this week! This is great news for the Alps, where the higher ski resorts still have plenty of snow and are offering fabulous late season snow conditions.
Right now, Zermatt is looking as good as anywhere for a late ski break. Not only was there 25cm of fresh snow here last night, but it
also has a 160cm upper base and boasts the highest pistes in the Alps, with excellent cover guaranteed deep into April.
Across the border in Italy, Cervinia is also in great shape, with fresh snow, an 170cm upper base and skiing down to resort level
guaranteed until early May! Staying in Italy, La Thuile is another great option. With a 220cm upper base, shady north-facing slopes and
an especially snowy microclimate, not only has it consistently offered some of the best snow conditions in the Alps this season, but there is also no better resort for escaping the Easter crowds.
In Austria, Sölden, with its two glaciers, is boasting some of the deepest snow in the country (205cm upper base),
while ever-reliable Ischgl has a 80cm upper base and is guaranteed to be keeping most of its huge ski area open until the
end of April.
Last but not least, the high resorts of the northern French Alps are offering some of the most extensive and reliable late season skiing in the Alps, with both Tignes (205cm upper base) and Val Thorens (190cm upper base) staying open until May.
