Warth-Schröcken claims the prestigious title of “snowiest ski area in the Alps” with a phenomenal snowfall average of 10.6m a season (measured at just 1650m).

The opening of links to Lech in 2013-14, and further to St Anton in 2016-17, gave skiers access to the 340km of pistes in the Arlberg ski area, and finally opened Warth-Schröcken up to the international recognition that it deserves.

The skiing

Warth-Schröcken’s local slopes are spread across a broad, mostly north-facing mountainside, and are ideal for high-speed cruising. None of the pistes are particularly steep, but there is masses of off-piste and a high chance of finding powder.

The extended Arlberg ski area links Warth-Schröcken with the intermediate-friendly slopes of Lech/Zürs and St Anton beyond, and provides a total of 340km of pistes for skiers of all abilties, with yet more high quality off-piste.

The resort

Warth and Schröcken are two tiny unspoilt villages at separate ends of the local ski area. Our accommodation is in Warth, which has the better facilities and is more convenient for the slopes.

Warth has a couple of lively umbrella bars at the bottom of the slopes but, on the whole, après-ski is quiet and revolves mainly around the hotels.
